My kids flew out today. I can't bring myself to say they 'went home'. And this is not exactly their home either. But not so unusual I guess. Holidays are filled with mixed emotions. I suppose that's why I lean heavily on Matthew 19:29 "And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life." A verse that describes the risks and the rewards of following Christ. And a verse that emphasizes the permanence of the Christian family over how temporary it feels to raise and release children.
Thank you for listening to my musings. I miss my kids. But thankful for the Christian community.
This Sunday we will finish the series on "Transitions" with a look at the book of Revelation. Apart from the crazy visions that John had we have some good words from Jesus to the Seven Churches. Words that impart Affirmation, Correction and Motivation. We'll look at Revelation 2 & 3 and see what we can take away for ourselves.
