HEBRON DAY SCHOOL NEWS (May 2010)

May was a very busy month for the Day School.  The children presented a short program of songs and Bible verses at the 11:00 AM service at Hebron on May 2nd.  The Mother's Day Luncheon on May 5th and End-of-Year Party on the 25th were enjoyed by all.  The Closing Program and Graduation was held on May 26th with a wonderful covered dish supper following the brief graduation ceremony.

On behalf of all the students, parents, and staff of Hebron Day School, I would like to take this opportunity to say "Thank You" to the members of Hebron Presbyterian Church for all your help, support, and prayers this past year.  We couldn't accomplish all we do without you.  God Bless!

HEBRON DAY SCHOOL NEWS (March 2010)

March is Reading Month for the preschool.  In addition to our program called "Ready, Set, READ", the children and their parents will be reading books at home and sending in reading logs that we'll make into a giant bug.  Watch our bug grow as we read!  We'll also have a special guest joining us the first week of March to celebrate our unit on Dr. Seuss.

Hebron Day School will be making up time missed due to the snowy weather.  Hebron Day School hours will be extended to 1:00 pm on March 10, 17, 24, and 31.

We have several special events planned for March.  We will have our "Annual" Pet Show on Wednesday, March 17 with a lot of very "child-friendly" family pets at school.  We've done this for the past couple of years and usually have quite a variety of pets!

Our Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for Wednesday, March 31, at noon since this is one of our extended class days.  All classes will participate in the hunt as well as any siblings who are with us.  The parents will be donating the filled eggs and working that morning to hide them.

Hebron Day School will be closed the week of April 6-9 for SPRING BREAK!  School reopens on Tuesday, April 13th.

Thank you for your continued support of our program and we look forward to spending another Sunday with you in April.

HEBRON DAY SCHOOL NEWS (February 2010)

Hebron Day School celebrated with our Dads at our annual Father's Night on January 20th.  We had many Dads and special friends join their children for a very special evening of "Winter Olympics" fun.  Everyone had a great time!

Registration for Hebron Day School is underway for the 2010-2011 school year.  We have been accepting applications during January from our current students and their siblings as well as any children from our Hebron Church family.  Registration opens to the public on February 1st.  Please spread the word to an family of friends about our wonderful preschool.  We will be happy to send a brochure and an application to anyone who might be interested.

We are still enjoying our Ready, Set, READ program and would love to have more volunteers from Hebron Church come in to read a story to the children.  We do this on Thursdays or Fridays around 11:00 AM.  If you would like to volunteer to read, please let us know.  There is a sign-up sheet on the church bulletin board in the hallway.

Our Valentine's Party is on Wednesday, February 10th at 11:00 AM.  The parents of our Little Ducks class are in charge of planning and organizing this for us.  All parents are invited to attend.

On Wednesday, February 24th, Hebron Day School will host a workshop by MAD Science of Central Virginia called "Mad Mixtures".  We'll have two separate workshops to include all the classes.  We did a similar workshop last year and had a great time.  This workshop is made possible with funds raised by our parents and church members who contributed their Ukrop's Golden Gift Certificates or made a contribution to the Parents' Fund.  We are very grateful for the wonderful support we get from our preschool families and our church family.

HEBRON DAY SCHOOL NEWS (January 2010)

Hebron Day School celebrated on Tuesday, December 15, with a school Christmas party planned and organized by the parents in the 4-day class.  We are very grateful for their support.  We would also like to thank Madison Long who was our most "special visitor".  Madison visited each room and each child, allowing them to tell him their Christmas wishes.  Thank you, Madison, for your kindness and patience!

On Wednesday evening, December 16, Hebron Day School held its annual Christmas program and nativity.  All the preschool children participated and the Fellowship Hall was filled to overflowing with parents, grandparents, and guests.  We would like to thank those of you in the Hebron congregation who joined us, especially Dr. Wood, for providing our welcome and Christmas prayer.  We are excited to welcome three new students to Hebron in January!  Please extend a welcome to Emma Mancuso and Gavin Team, who will be joining the 2-day class, and to Jacques Leleux, who is joining the 3-day class.  We still have a few openings so please continue to spread the word!

Hebron Day School reopens on Tuesday, January 5.  We have a few special events planned for the month, including Pajama Day on Wednesday, January 13, and Father's Night on Wednesday, January 20.  Registration for the 2010-2011 school year also begins in January.  Current students, their siblings and Hebron church members will have first priority.  If you have preschool children or know of a family that might be interested in our program, please let us know so that we can send them an Application Packet.

HEBRON DAY SCHOOL NEWS (December 2009)

Hebron Day School would like to thank the congregation for having us visit with you on Sunday, November 15.  We had nine preschool families join us and six staff members.  We hope to see you again in April for our next Hebron Day School Sunday.

Our service project to collect snack items for Lt. Ben Curle and his platoon was a huge success.  We received enough items to fill three boxes that were shipped on Friday, November 13th.  The children made more than 60 cards with special messages which were included with the boxes.  We all enjoyed having Ben visit with us on Veteran's Day.

Our annual Christmas program will be held on Wednesday night, December 16, at 6:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall.  There will a time of fellowship and refreshments after the program.  We would like to invite our Hebron church family to join us for this very special celebration.

Our registration process for the next school year begins in January for current students, their siblings, and Hebron church members.  If you know of a family with preschool children who might be interested in our program, please let us know so that we can send them an Application Packet.

Hebron Day School will be closed Friday, December 18 through Monday, January 4 for the Christmas holidays.  Preschool reopens on Tuesday, January 5.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you a very happy, healthy, and blessed Christmas Season.  God Bless.
